Built Through Adversity
Every setback is a setup for a comeback
Choosing to Bet on Yourself
I grew up insecure about my body. Even though I stayed active, I never felt truly confident—until COVID gave me the time to focus on myself. Simple routines like cardio, abs, and basic dieting taught me that progress happens when you choose to bet on yourself.
By 2021, I started lifting seriously. I was lost at first, but I kept showing up. Over the next few years, I built strength, discipline, and a version of myself I was proud of. Then in late 2023, a torn labrum took all of it away. What should have been a short recovery turned into nearly a year of setbacks. I watched my physique disappear while living alone in a new city and a new school without the support I once had.
That year showed me that strength isn’t measured by what you have, but by what you rise to rebuild after losing it all.
But that year taught me the real meaning of growth. Strength is what you rebuild when everything falls apart. That mindset is the foundation of Risk Apparel. The brand was born from the moments where you have to move forward even when you are scared, uncertain, or starting from zero again. There is a quote that shaped me through all of this:
“When it feels scary to jump, that is exactly when you jump. Otherwise you end up staying in the same place your whole life and that I cannot do.”
J. C. Chandor, A Most Violent Year
Risk Apparel represents that jump. It is about taking the chance, betting on yourself, and refusing to stay where you are. It is for anyone rebuilding, anyone hungry for more, and anyone willing to take a risk on their own potential.
